Our Philosophy

At BELC we believe that secure respectful and reciprocal relationships are at the heart of early childhood education and care. We endeavour to grow and nurture meaningful relationships between staff, children, family and community because we ‘recognise that families are children’s first and most influential teachers’ (EYLF). We believe that positive partnerships between the service, family and community significantly enhances wellbeing and belonging for children.

Our educators work in a professional environment where individual strengths are nurtured and encouraged. We engage in an ongoing cycle of reflective practice and professional development to keep our knowledge current as well as innovative.

We love what we do...

Our Centre has a happy, friendly and warm homely environment where children, parents and friends are always made to feel safe and most welcomed.

At BELC we care about each other!

At BELC we have fun!

Educators adapt the routine, experiences, ideas and teaching strategies to promote equity and inclusion.

Educators use their knowledge of children, family, community and culture to guide the curriculum in conjunction with the EYLF and developmentally appropriate practice. Educators adapt the environment to appeal to the senses and allow for open-ended play opportunities.

This enables children to control the pace and extent of their own learning. We believe the best learning occurs when children’s interests are acknowledged and extended through play.

At BELC we believe that all children have the right to their own identity.

Our goal is to create a community where children, families and early childhood educators work together to build and create a culture of caring, kindness and respect.

We aim to create a sense of belonging by honouring all cultures within our centre and embracing the wider community.

Our passionate educators are dedicated to providing inspiring learning environments that encourage independence, develop confidence and respect while guiding and nurturing each child’s individual development.

At BELC we have become passionate about sustainability.

We believe that children’s education should help them to develop an understanding and respect for the environment in which they live in, to protect it and live peacefully within it.

We endeavour to embed sustainability into everyday practices with the children and families. We are committed to broadening our knowledge and creating a more positive impact on our environment.
